Arnold T. Ardevela, MBA, CCS, CPC, CPC-I, COC, C-CDI, CCDS
President / CEO
 
With a Master's Degree in Business Administration with emphasis in Health Care Administration, Arnold Ardevela has been able to establish AE & Associates, LLC, as one of the most successful auditing and staffing firms for hospitals, medical groups, physicians, and other types of healthcare organizations throughout Southern California and various parts of the nation since 2000. 
 
Trained as a Physician in the Philippines, he has over 34 years of coding and auditing experience. Arnold has multiple Medical Coding credentials issued by both American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) and by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA). From the AAPC, he holds the Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Outpatient Coder (COC), and Certified Professional Coder-Instructor (CPC-I) credentials. The CPC-I designates him as an approved Professional Medical Coding Instructor through the AAPC. 
 
Through AHIMA he has held a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) credential since 1984. Arnold was in the forefront for the conversion from ICD-9 to ICD-10. He is currently an AHIMA Approved ICD-10/PCS Trainer, and was active in making preparations for classes on not only ICD-10, but Anatomy & Physiology, Pathophysiology, and Pharmacology. He does rebuttal and appeal of RAC audited and managed care hospital audits. He does the education on site, remotely, and internationally for medical coding. He also provides in­-service seminars to all his employees as well as others for continuing education. 
 
Through the Association of Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialists (ACDIS), he is a Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) and he has conducted numerous CDI seminars. He is also a member of American Medical Billing Association (AMBA) being an owner of a billing company as well. 
 
Arnold also serves as Program Director of Tri-County Allied Health School, a sister company of AE & Associates, LLC. This is an Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) and California BPPE accredited school. Being recognized by two accrediting bodies confirms the type of medical coding education as meeting the golden standard and incidentally provides immediate job opportunities to newly graduated students in the coding industry. 
 

 
Ester Ardevela, MSN, NP, CCS
Chief Financial Officer
 
Ester has over 25 years of healthcare experience starting from her years of critical care nursing to her later work as a Nurse Practitioner in nephrology. She served for many years as a RN before pursuing her Master's Degree in Nursing from the UCLA. She then became a Certified Nurse Practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
 
As AE & Associates, LLC begain to grow exponentially, Ester advanced from her role as a Nurse Practitioner and assumed the position of CFO of AE & Associates, LLC in 2005.
 
Ester is also a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) through AHIMA and is the Adminssions Director to Tri-County Allied Health School, the educational arm of AE & Associates, LLC. Ester works collaboratively with Arnold Ardevela to successfully direct the company's daily operations.
 

Michelle Bagaygay
Medical Billing Manager
 
Michelle Bagaygay has worked as a medical billing specialist with over 20 years of experience. She manages a team of medical billers and coders in-house. She bills for many different physicians and practices and efficently keeps up with the latest medical billing rules and regulations to implement them into her daily routine. Michelle has a very strong background in analyzing and solving problems that has made her effective in dealing with denials management, contract re-negotiations, and appeals. She has consistently supported the company's client base with excellent outcomes. She is a member of the American Medical Billing Association (AMBA). 
 

 
Nancy Jangaon, RHIT
HIM Consultant
Nancy is a leader and result-oriented professional with a rich background in Health Information Management. Upon receiving her RHIT credential she started her consulting firm in 1985 to 2003 serving acute care hospitals, long term care facilities and clinics. In addition to her consulting Nancy was a Director of Health Information Management for over 30 years in various acute care hospitals. Besides medical records, she has overseen other departments such as transcription, cancer registry, admitting, medical library, quality improvement/risk management, case management and she has served as compliance privacy officer.
 
Nancy later retired as a Director but continued consulting until 2008. In 2009, she joined the team at AE & Associates, LLC as their HIM Consultant. She is also an Advisory Board member of Tri-County Allied Health School.
 

 
Gary Tran, Esq.
General Counsel
A part of the medical industry in his early days working with pathologists when he was 16, Gary joins us with vast experience in the professional world with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and International Area Studies from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). After completing his studies at UCLA, he spent time in international commerce assisting with the procurement and rehabilitation of aircraft for the Aerospace Industrial Development Corporation of Taiwan before venturing into commercial real estate, public service, and eventually, law school. 
 
In 2009, Gary graduated in the top percentile of his class and earned his Juris Doctor from Southwestern University, School of Law. Gary is tasked with ensuring that AE & Associates, LLC is in compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and Local laws, business development, and outreach.
 
In his spare time, Gary can be found volunteering his time with the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles handling cases and staffing legal clinics for the indigent. 
 

 
Anna Pozon Gibbs, CPC
HCC Consultant / Business Development
Anna currently serves as the HCC Consultant and Business Development at AE & Associates, LLC.  She has been consulting with them for the past three years in the area of Risk Adjustment and Project Management Anna will be working with multiple health plans and providers in areas of Risk Adjustment, STARS and other areas that they might require assistance.

Anna’s former position was that of a Director of Medicare Risk Adjustment for Physicians United Plan in Orlando, FL.  Anna is a BSBA and Certified Professional Coder with over 20 years of experience in the medical industry in practice management, consulting, IPA, and Medicare Advantage.

Anna’s prior positions include Senior HCC Manager for CCHP, HMO where she provided risk adjustment expertise to the organization, directed and implemented the company’s HCC initiatives to ensure successful integration, interfaced with the health plan’s provider partners and management of the risk adjustment department.

Prior to joining Citizens Choice Healthplan HMO Anna’s experience includes service as a Data Validation Manager and San Bernardino and Riverside County Market Consultant
at Ingenix.  In that role she was instrumental in the pilot RADV. 

Anna has held a number of management positions in both provider-based and managed care organizations where she was responsible for managing risk adjustment initiatives and business development activities.  She has worked in the consulting capacity in the Home Health industry working with Medicare Cost Reporting and financial audits and the FFS market doing coding audits.
   
Anna’s main focus in the past few years has been in HCC Risk Adjustment, helping providers, IPAs, and coders to understand the finance and coding aspects of Risk Adjustment.
